Man Indicted In Cold Case Hit-Run Death Of Westchester Man
Nearly five years after a Westchester man was killed by a hit-and-run driver, prosecutors have announced criminal charges in his death.
A grand jury indicted Bronx resident Edmund Pennil, age 45, on felony manslaughter charges Friday, Aug. 19, in connection with the death of Tremayne Williams in Mount Vernon.
Emergency crews found Williams, who was 41 at the time, just before 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, lying unresponsive on East Third Street in Mount Vernon.
He later died at Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital.

A 39-year-old man was sentenced for the execution-style murder in Westchester.
Negus Kirton was sentenced on Friday, Aug. 12 to 25 years to life in state prison following his July conviction for the 2020 murder of Michael Toro, age 21, in Mount Vernon.

Westchester County Man Wins '$1,000 A Week For Life' Lottery Prize
A Westchester County man claimed a "$1,000 A Week For Life" lottery prize.
Glenroy Walters, of Mount Vernon, won the CASH4LIFE second prize for matching the first five numbers selected in the drawing on Thursday, June 2, the New York Lottery announced on Wednesday, Aug. 3.
The winning numbers were: 12 40 54 55 60 with the Cash Ball 03.
Walters chose to receive his prize as a single, lump-sum payment of $650,923 after required withholdings, the lottery announced.
His winning ticket was purchased at AA Express Mart, which is located at 230 West Lincoln Ave. in Mount Vernon, NY Lottery said.
Westchester County Woman Wins $1M Lottery Prize
A Westchester County resident has claimed a $1 million Mega Millions lottery prize.
Peggy Spear, of Mount Vernon, claimed the second prize for matching the first five numbers in the Jan. 28 Mega Millions Drawing, the New York Lottery announced on Wednesday, July 6.
The winning numbers were: 03 16 25 44 55 Mega Ball 13, the lottery said.
Spear received her prize as a single, lump-sum payment of $651,000 after required withholdings, NY Lottery announced.
The ticket was purchased at Larchmont Pharmacy, which is located at 2141 Palmer Ave. in Larchmont, the lottery said.
