Blaze Tears Through Condominium Building In Hudson Valley
A residence inside a Hudson Valley condominium complex was left damaged by a fire.
According to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department, the incident happened in Putnam County on Friday, April 26, just before 6:40 p.m., when a blaze began inside a unit at a condominium building in Mahopac on East Lake Boulevard.
Arriving crews soon realized they would need more manpower to tackle the blaze, so they received help from the Mahopac Falls, Croton Falls, Carmel, and Yorktown Heights fire departments, the Carmel Police Department, and the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services.

ID Released For Drowning Victim At Area Lake
The identity of a man who drowned in a Hudson Valley lake while out boating with friends has been released by police.
Brooklyn resident Sydney Joseph, 46, was recovered on Monday, June 29, in Oscawana Lake, located in the town of Putnam Valley, said Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr.
The search for Joseph began around 3:35 p.m., Saturday, June 27, when sheriff's deputies responded to the lake for a report of a potential drowning, the sheriff's department said.

Three people were hospitalized overnight when a fire broke out and tore through a Putnam County home, officials said.
Shortly after midnight on Tuesday, Feb. 18, first responders were dispatched to Oak Road West in Lake Secor, when a fire ravaged a one-story home, Jack Casey, spokesman for the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department, said.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the house fully engulfed in flames, with the residents outside the home.

ID Released For Man Found Dead In Lake Carmel
A Fairfield County man found dead in Lake Carmel after an exhaustive search has been identified by police in Putnam County.
Jeremy Kipnis, 54, of Redding, was found floating in the middle of Lake Carmel around 5:30 a.m., Monday, July 22, said the Kent Police.
Kipnis disappeared after telling his wife he was going swimming Saturday afternoon, July 20, but then never returned home.
His wife, Carolina Kipnis, said on Facebook that a preliminary autopsy report showed Kipnis had a heart attack in the water.
