Hudson Valley Man Armed With Knife Holds Police At Bay For 5 Hours
An attempt to serve an arrest warrant in the region led to a five-hour standoff with law enforcement. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at around 11 a.m. on Monday, July 1, on Route 44 in Pleasant Valley. According to Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, deputies, and detectives responded to a residence on Route 44 in the Town of Pleasant Valley to serve an arrest warrant. Man Removed 'Peacefully' From Home In Area Following Standoff With Police
This story has been updated. A man who was barricaded inside an area home has been taken into custody by the New York State Police. The Dutchess County standoff began around 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 10, in the area of Osborne Hill Road in the Town of Wappinger. State police announced around 12:47 p.m., that the situation had been resolved "peacefully."
