Halloween Police Details Result In 16.5K Tickets Statewide: Here's A Breakdown
New York State Police troopers dished out nearly double the number of tickets during a special Halloween enforcement detail. Troopers issued 16,690 tickets statewide during the enforcement campaign, up from 9,057 tickets last year. The detail ran from Saturday, Oct. 26, and lasted through Nov. 1. “Our top priority is the safety of everyone on our roads – our goal is not to spoil anyone’s fun on Halloween,” Terri Egan, the Executive Commissioner of the DMV said before the detail began. Memorial Day Weekend Police Crackdown On Distracted Driving, DWI Starts
While many will be celebrating an extended Memorial Day Weekend holiday, members of state and local police will be out in force in an effort to curtail impaired and distracted riving. Effort Underway To Save Lives On I-95
Law enforcement agencies up and down the east coast are teaming to protect motorists on I-95 as part of the National Drive to Save Lives Campaign. State police agencies from 15 east coast states - including New York and Connecticut - are teaming in an effort to “keep one of the country’s most highly-traveled interstates, I-95 safe and fatality-free" Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21. 'Empty Chair Teen Initiative' Joined By Orange County Sheriff
Teenagers looking forward to their upcoming school proms and graduation ceremonies may want to think twice before stepping behind the wheel of a car. Local, State Police Increase DWI Enforcement For Super Bowl
New York State Police will join local law enforcement agencies across the state in an effort to crack down on impaired driving on Super Bowl Sunday. The STOP-DWI campaign will include underage drinker enforcement, increased patrols and sobriety checkpoints to deter, identify and arrest impaired drivers. Man Faces DWI, Other Charges After Dutchess Checkpoint Stop
State police arrested six motorists in Dutchess County during the New Year’s Eve holiday at various checkpoints strategically laid out throughout the county. In their continued efforts to crackdown on impaired driving in the Hudson Valley, state police set up the safety checkpoints to “fulfill its mission of improving highway safety for all users” during the holiday season.
