Area Resident Seriously Injured In Crash That Caused I-84 Closure Police are asking the public for help with information regarding a 4-vehicle crash that caused life-threatening injuries to one passenger and closed I-84 for hours. The crash took place around 2:15 p.m., Monday, Nov. 8, on I-84 in Danbury, said the Connecticut State Police. According to troopers, the crash occurred when the four vehicles were traveling west on I-84 and traffic began to slow for congestion. The incident began around 7:49 p.m., Monday, June 21, in western Orange County. Lane Closures Scheduled For I-84 Stretch Weekday lane closures are planned for a stretch of I-84 counties, the New York State Department of Transportation announced. The NYSDOT issued an advisory stating that there will be single-lane closures eastbound and westbound on I-84 in Putnam and Dutchess counties between Exit 44 (Route 52) in East Fishkill and Exit 65 (Route 312) in the town of Southeast, weekdays beginning Monday, June 14 through approximately Friday, June 25. Closures are scheduled for between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays, weather permitting. During the closures, motorists can expect delays in the area.

Driver Seriously Injured After Crash With Tractor-Trailer On I-84 The driver of a Mustang was seriously injured after crashing with a tractor-trailer on a stretch of I-84 and becoming trapped. The crash took place in Orange County around 10:15 p.m., Monday, May 24, near Route 208 and I-84 in Maybrook, said the Montgomery Fire Department. The department, which was working mutual aid with the Maybrook Fire District, and the Montgomery Ambulance Corps, was able to successfully extricate the driver, who was then airlifted to an area hospital.  The driver was reportedly fleeing from police when the crash took place.

Troopers are investigating a motor vehicle crash that happened at approximately 2:30 p.m. in Orange County on Monday, April 19 in Greenville, leaving the driver of a 2010 Honda CRV with serious injuries.
