Suspect Caught After Hudson Valley Woman Stabbed To Death, Police Say
A suspect has been arrested just a day after a Hudson Valley woman was found stabbed to death in her home.
The homicide took place in Dutchess County in the city of Poughkeepsie around 11:30 p.m., Friday, May 27.
The woman's body was found after police and fire responded to a home at 7 South Grand Ave., for an unresponsive 64-year-old woman, said Det. Sgt. Terrence Beam, of the City of Poughkeepsie Police.
The victim, identified as Nina Robinson, who had been stabbed, was beyond saving and was pronounced dead at the scene, Beam said.

Hudson Valley 20-Year-Old Fatally Shot After Facebook Marketplace Sale, Police Say
A Hudson Valley man was shot dead in broad daylight while attempting to purchase a motorcycle off of Facebook Marketplace.
The incident took place in the Bronx around 3:40 p.m., Wednesday, May 18 at East 144th and Exterior streets in Mott Haven, said the NYPD.
The victim, Rockland County resident Jefferson Jimenez Hernandez, age 20, of Spring Valley, was found unconscious and unresponsive, with gunshot wounds to the head, NYPD said.
EMS responded and transported Hernandez to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln where he was pronounced dead, they added.

A man who was shot and killed on a sidewalk in the area has been identified by police.
Dutchess County resident Cain Smalls, age 29, was found around 4 a.m. Sunday, April 17, in the city of Poughkeepsie.
Smalls, of the city of Poughkeepsie, was found after officers responded to the area of 135 Mill St., for a report of shots fired.

Arnold Oliver, age 24, of Peekskill, and Jamal Smith, age 28, of New Rochelle, were killed around 11 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 12, in the Bronx after getting into an altercation during a baby shower.

Hudson Valley Man Charged With Murder Of 28-Year-Old, Police Say
Police have arrested a local man for a homicide that took place more than two years ago in the Hudson Valley.
Rockland County resident Jack Ramirez, age 20, of Spring Valley, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 16, in connection with the killing of a 28-year-old area man.
According to the Spring Valley Police, Ramirez was nabbed following a two-year investigation into the killing on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, of Juvenson Paul who was found shot dead in a car.
Ramirez, who was already incarcerated at the Dutchess County Jail on unrelated gun charges, was charged with murder.

A "for sale" sign seen outside of the home of Brian Laundrie's parents was placed there as a hoax, the family's lawyer said in a new report.
WFLA, a news station in Tampa, Florida, reported on Tuesday, Nov. 30, that the family is not planning to sell the home, and the family's lawyer Steve Bertolino said the sign outside of the home was a hoax.

Suspect Nabbed For Murder Of 90-Year-Old Woman In Area
An area woman was found dead inside her home after police received a 911 call for a possible homicide.
Sullivan County resident Louisa S. Butler, age 90, of the town of Liberty, was found dead inside the home around 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 29, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
As a result of the investigation, state police charged James M. Brodie, age 75, of Liberty, with second-degree murder, Nevel said.
State police declined to release information on Brodie's connection to the victim.
