Fatal Crash: Orange County 19-Year-Old ID'd As Victim A 19-year-old was killed in a two-vehicle crash after he allegedly ran a red light in the region, striking another car. School Employee Hospitalized After Explosion At Maintenance Building In Westchester A 69-year-old man from the Hudson Valley was injured in an explosion inside a school district maintenance building in Westchester that also caused a small fire.  The incident happened on Tuesday, Aug. 13 just before 1:20 p.m., when an oil tank explosion was reported at a Mamaroneck School District maintenance building and garage at 119 Gertrude Ave., according to Lt. Person Flips Canoe, Then Pulled From Water In Dramatic Hudson Valley Rescue A person was rescued from the water after they were found clinging to a kayak in a Hudson Valley pond. The rescue happened in Putnam County at around 2:40 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, when a forest ranger with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation saw a person in the water while patrolling White Pond in the town of Kent.  According to the DEC, the person had rolled their canoe and could not flip it back over. The incident occurred in Orange County around 7:15 p.m., Wednesday, July 3, on I-84 in Middletown.
