4 Apprehended After Gunfire Breaks Out In Broad Daylight Near City Hall In Hudson Valley
Four suspects have been apprehended after gunfire broke out in broad daylight near a city hall in the region. The incident happened just before 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21 in Poughkeepsie in the area of 55 Washington St. Officers responded to a report of multiple shots fired opposite Poughkeepsie City Hall. No gunshot victims were found but property damage was observed, and officers were informed of a vehicle that had fled the scene, Poughkeepsie PD Det. Sgt. Sean Fitzgerald said. Shots Fired Outside High School In Westchester
A high school was locked down and security was beefed up after gunshots rang out near the building. In Westchester, police officials in Mount Vernon confirmed that there were at least three gunshots fired near the high school on Monday afternoon, Feb. 7, leading to a temporary lockdown and subsequent increased security around the building on Tuesday, Feb. 8. Man Alone In Area Home Prompts Standoff After Firing Shots, Police Say
A four-hour stan-off with an armed man in the area ended peacefully when the man surrendered. The incident began around 4:13 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 26, in Dutchess County when the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department responded to several reports of shots fired at a house and a vehicle on Channingville Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie. Instead of watching fireworks on Sunday, July 4, officers with the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department were busy running from one call to another including shots fired, officer assaulted, and a lost child. Shots fired: The day started early around 7:30 a.m. when officers on patrol were flagged down by employees of Family Dollar at 412 Main Street.
