Orange County Wildfire Prompts Voluntary Evacuations, Shelters Open For Residents, Pets A wildfire spreading in the region has prompted voluntary evacuations as state and local agencies in New York work to control the blaze in the Hudson Valley. The fire, originating in Orange County near Jennings Creek and Sterling Forest, has crossed established containment lines, New York State Police said Saturday evening, Nov. 16.  Approximately 40 residences, from 32 to 120 Edgemere Ave., are under a voluntary evacuation order issued by the Town of Warwick Police Department. One Seriously Injured After Rollover Crash With Entrapped Driver In Area One person was seriously injured during a single-vehicle rollover crash in Monroe that required extrication of the driver. The crash took place around noon, Monday, April 22, near 283 Nelson Road, said Greenwood Lake Fire Department Chief Michael Dunlop. When firefighters and rescue arrived on the scene they found the vehicle had flipped and was on its roof with the driver hanging half out of the window and entrapped, Dunlop said.
