Townhome Fire Injures Two, Destroys Bedroom In Hudson Valley
A fire destroyed a second-story bedroom in a townhome in the Hudson Valley, causing injuries to the residents, including burns and respiratory problems. The incident occurred in Poughkeepsie around 6:10 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 12, at 13 Tall Tree Lane. Arlington Fire District Deputy Chief Adam Kangas said firefighters arrived at the townhome in under six minutes and found a bedroom on fire. Driver Killed, Passenger Injured In Single-Vehicle Hudson Valley Crash
A 68-year-old Rockland County man died following a single-vehicle collision on Clausland Mountain Road near Tweed Boulevard in Blauvelt. The crash occurred around 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 9, when the Tappan man, driving a 2008 Pontiac G5 northeast on Clausland Mountain Road, veered off the pavement, striking a large rock and an earth embankment on the east side of the roadway, said Capt. One man is dead, and another is hospitalized following a head-on crash in Sullivan County. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, at the intersection of Cignarale Road in Loch Sheldrake. According to Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, the crash involved a 2012 Toyota Sienna minivan driven by John Bullock, age 60, of Loch Sheldrake, and a 2015 Buick Encore operated by Benjamin DeVault, age 19, of Hurleyville. Police have identified a Hudson Valley man who was found lying on a roadway and later died. Chief Kyle Berardi of the Ulster Police said on Tuesday, Dec. 31, that Frank Herbert, age 66, of Ulster, was found after officers responded to a 911 call on E. Chester Street Bypass on Saturday, Dec. 28. According to Berardi, Herbert was lying in a prone position off the side of the roadway. Police ID Man Killed In Late-Night Minivan Crash In Orange County
A Brooklyn man was killed late Tuesday night, Dec. 10 when his van veered off the road and struck an embankment in Monroe, authorities said. Ulugbek Yunussov, 62, was behind the wheel of a 2012 Chrysler van that left the roadway and struck an embankment on Larkin Drive around 11 p.m., NY State Police said.
