Man Shot On Hudson Valley Basketball Court, Police Searching For Suspects
Police in the Hudson Valley are investigating after a man was shot on a popular basketball court. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 11 p.m., Thursday, May 2, on South Park Avenue in Beacon. According to Det. Sgt. Jason Johnson of the Beacon Police officers responded to South Davies Terrace for a report of shots fired. Johnson said officers located a 20-year-old man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. After six years, a Hudson Valley superintendent has announced his upcoming move to a nearby district to remain closer to his family. Superintendent Phil Benante of Putnam County's Haldane Central School District announced on Tuesday, April 30 that he was appointed head of the Arlington Central School District in Dutchess County, according to a letter written to the district community. Suspect On Run After 2 Teens Shot In Neck Near Hudson Valley High School, Police Say
Police are searching for a suspect after two teens were shot in the neck near a high school in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, close to Poughkeepsie High School in the area of Fox Terrace and South White Street in Poughkeepsie. According to Det. Lt. A Hudson Valley man is behind bars after allegedly selling drugs to undercover agents from a drug task force for a second time. The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force arrested Raequan Keemer, age 29, of Beacon, on Tuesday, April 30, for two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. An overturned kayaker was rescued from the waters of the Hudson River by a tour boat and firefighters. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, near Dennings Point and Long Dock Park.
