Actor/Writers Group Seeking Talent From Westchester, Hudson Valley
An actors/writers group is looking for talent from throughout the Hudson Valley.
The group says it's "Seeking playwrights who like to work with actors, and actors looking to work with new playwrights, to workshop new plays from writers from the Hudson Valley community. People who are motivated to be with a group of artists to share, grow and build."

College In Westchester Changes Name After 75 Years: 'Natural Evolution'
A college in Westchester has decided to change its name after almost 75 years to reflect the expansion of its programs at both an undergraduate and graduate level.
Mercy College, located in Dobbs Ferry, has changed its name to Mercy University, officials announced on Tuesday, Aug. 22.

One hospital in the Hudson Valley is at the top of its class for keeping patients safe, according to a new report.
Westchester County's White Plains Hospital, located at 41 East Post Rd, has been assigned an "A" grade for patient safety in a new Fall 2022 report by the Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog organization that advocates for safety in hospitals.

Beloved Mother, Teacher In Westchester Dies At 41
A beloved mother and teacher who was a lifelong Westchester resident has died at age 41.
Valerie Cirillo Bunch, who lived in Tarrytown, was raised in Irvington.
She worked as a preschool teacher, nanny for many families, and as a postpartum doula.
She died on Tuesday, March 30.
She is survived by her husband for 11 years, Sean David Bunch; her children Cole, Donte, and Giselle; sisters Melissa Cirillo and Samantha (Randoln) Hidalgo; nieces and nephews Ashley, Mia, Dorian, Milo, and Ryder; and her father-in-law Donald R Bunch.

Popular Smoothie Bar Chain Opens Fifth Hudson Valley Location
A popular smoothie chain with more than 1,000 restaurants throughout the globe has opened its latest Hudson Valley location.
On Saturday, Feb. 22, Smoothie King celebrated the grand opening of its fifth Hudson Valley location, and first in Orange County off Route 300 in Newburgh. As part of its opening, the company offered free 20-ounce smoothies during the celebration.
The code for the free smoothie is redeemable through Tuesday, March 10.
