Road Closure Alert: Work On Route 9W To Last For Weeks; Here's When, Where A busy stretch of Route 9W will be close nightly for weeks. The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists in Rockland County of the closure in Clarkstown between Short Clove Avenue and Route 304. The closures, starting Monday, Sept. 9, will be nightly between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. and last through Friday, Sept. 20, to facilitate construction activities, weather permitting. Motorists should anticipate delays and follow the posted detour.

Route 9W Stretch To Close In Rockland County For Maintenace Work Motorists should anticipate delays and detours when Route 9W closes in both directions for maintenance. The State Department of Transportation said the closure will take place between Shadyside Avenue and Hickey Street in Orangetown from 6 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 22,  weather permitting.
