Man Hides In Closet After Violating Order Of Protection In Area, Police Say
A 26-year-old man was arrested for violating an order of protection in the area, police say.
Nathan R. Shook, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested around 11:40 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 10, after police discovered he had entered and remained in his ex-girlfriend’s apartment in the Town of Poughkeepsie, said Town of Poughkeepsie Police Lt. Michael O’Dowd.
When officers arrived on the scene, Shook refused to answer the door in an attempt to avoid arrest, O'Dowd said.
Once inside, officers found Shook hiding in a closet, in violation of a stay-away order of protection, he added.

A Spring Valley man was arrested after hitting his ex-girlfriend in the head during a fight, causing a laceration that needed medical attention, Spring Valley Police said.
Josset Alfredo Barrera-Cazco, 20, was arrested around 9:30 a.m., Monday, July 8, when officers responded to Washington Street for a report of a physical domestic dispute, said Spring Valley Officer Matthew Galli.

A homeowner who was shot by a woman who had come into his home with another man demanding money and drugs grabbed a shotgun and returned fire, shooting the woman.
Details surrounding the double shooting unfolded around 2:11 a.m. Sunday when police received a report of a woman shot on Willow Cross Road in Hyde Park, said Hyde Park Police Lt. Robert Benson.
