Holiday Heart: Hudson Valley Church To Host Christmas Dinner For Homeless, Lonely
Christmas is usually a season of joy and family gatherings. But for the homeless or lonely, it can be challenging to cope.
To help, the First Baptist Church of Spring Valley will serve Christmas dinner and distribute coats and food packages to the homeless, indigent, and lonely on Christmas Day.
Deacon Michael Williams said the church, whose theme is "Love thy Neighbor," will also deliver dinners and food packages to homebound members, their neighbors, and the homeless in Spring Valley and surrounding communities.

Eye Of The Storm: System With Damaging Winds Causing Power Outages, Flooding, School Closures
A massive pre-Christmas storm packed with damaging wind gusts and heavy downpours is causing localized flash flooding, power outages, and some school closures in the region.
The system, which arrived Thursday afternoon, Dec. 22, will wind down by Friday evening, Dec. 23.
A total of between 2 to 3 inches or more of rainfall is possible.

Strong winds may knock out Central Hudson customer's electricity on Christmas Eve, Thursday, Dec. 24 and Christmas, Friday, Dec. 25, according to the utility company.

Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Will Once Again Come From Hudson Valley

For the second time in as many years, the famous Rockefeller Christmas tree is coming from the Hudson Valley.
The center announced on Instagram on Monday, Oct. 21, that this year's twinkling giant of a tree is a Norway spruce that hails from the Village of Florida in Orange County.
Although they haven't released the details on the tree's height and owners, the center did say the tree will be cut down on Thursday, Nov. 7, and will arrive by truck at Rockefeller Center on Saturday, Nov. 9.
