Shooting At Party In Capital District Kills 35-Year-Old Man, Injures Woman
A gunman is still on the loose following a shooting in the Capital District that killed a 35-year-old man and left a woman injured. 911 calls started coming in at around 3:15 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, with reports of a shooting at an entertainment venue in downtown Albany, located on Madison Avenue. Arriving officers found Fareed Sanders, of Albany, inside of the building suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, Albany Police said. NY Soldier Made Terroristic Threats At Army National Guard Base, Cops Say
An Army National Guard soldier in Upstate New York is facing charges after allegedly threatening violence at a military base in the Capital District. New York State Police said they began investigating after a concerned soldier from the Army National Guard Base in Latham contacted them on Saturday, July 23. Troopers determined that Thomas Greene, age 20, of Colonie, had made a terroristic threat while on the base and arrested him. New York Man Claims $1 Million Lottery Prize
A man from the Capital District has claimed a $1 million New York Lottery prize. Albany County resident Daniel Foster, of Watervliet, claimed a top prize from the lottery's "Strike it Rich" scratch-off game, NY Lottery announced on Wednesday, May 18. He received his prize as a single, lump-sum payment of $546,840 after required withholdings, the lottery said. NY Lottery reported that the ticket was purchased at Cumberland Farms, which is located at 211 Troy-Schenectady Road in Latham.
