9/11 Responder With Deep Long Island Law Enforcement Roots Rick Stueber Dies
A 50-year-old Connecticut father of four who served as one of New York's Finest during its most trying day has died. Richard "Rick" Stueber Jr. died on Dec. 10. His family did not disclose the cause of death. Stueber had been living in Stratford, CT but was born in Queens, New York, and had deep roots in Long Island law enforcement, according to his obituary shared by Riverhead News and Riverhead Local. Gilgo Beach Murders: New Images Of 'Asian Doe' Released In Effort To ID Male Victim
Investigators are hoping newly released images will lead to the identification of another victim in the Gilgo Beach serial murders. On Long Island, the Gilgo Beach Task Force distributed facial reconstructions of who they've long referred to as "Asian Doe" during a press conference in Brentwood on Monday morning, Sept. 16. Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney said the man’s skeletal remains were found along Ocean Parkway in Gilgo Beach on April 4, 2011, though it’s believed he “suffered a violent death” sometime before 2006. Pair Of Shark Sightings Reported At Rockaway Beach
Governor Kathy Hochul announced that state parks would be increasing their shark surveillance capabilities after two shark sightings were reported at at Rockaway Beach, causing closures. The first set of jaws was spotted at just after noon on Thursday, July 11. According to a post by the New York Police Department’s Deputy Commissioner Kaz Daughtry, the shark was captured by surveillance drones - Rockaway Beach at 86th Street.
