Woman Attacked By Dog At Nassau County Home A woman is recovering after being attacked by a dog on Long Island. The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, in Elmont. Nassau County Police officers responding to the Newburgh Street residence found the 81-year-old had suffered multiple lacerations to various parts of her body.  The victim was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment of her injuries.
