A person from Virginia has become the third person to die during an ongoing Listeria food poisoning outbreak linked to millions of pounds of Boar's Head deli meats that were recalled. A local man has died after being found unconscious on a Long Island roadway. At about 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, a 911 caller reported the injured man lying on the road in Moriches, Suffolk County Police said. The man, John Ballard, age 30, of Mastic, was rushed to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue. A man police described as "agitated" died shortly after being handcuffed and subdued on Long Island. The incident happened just before 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, in Wyandanch. One man was killed and another was injured after a concrete wall collapsed during a home demolition. It happened in Manorhaven on Monday, July 1, according to Nassau County Police. At approximately 11:45 a.m., two men were working on demolition for a Kirkwood Road home when a concrete wall collapsed on them. Nassau County Police say detectives were conducting an investigation in Baldwin on Talmadge Drive when they saw smoke emanating from a residence at about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 11.
