Crash Update: 1 Critical, 1 Stable Following 2-Vehicle Drunk Driving Accident In Capital Region Two victims of an alleged drunk driving crash who were severely wounded remain in the hospital. The collision occurred in Greene County on Route 23 in Catskill at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10. According to Greene County Sheriff's Office Capt. Joel Rowell, responding deputies immediately began life-saving measures on the two seriously injured victims who were ejected from a motorcycle.  They are 57-year-old Craig Sutherland and 50-year-old Charity Hogan of Quebec, Canada.  Sutherland was airlifted to Albany Medical Center, where he currently remains in cr…

Albany County resident Michael Furch, age 34, of Guilderland, died following a single-vehicle crash on I-787 in Albany on Thursday, June 20. New York State Police said Furch was operating a motorcycle when he lost control and struck a concrete barrier while exiting I-787 on the flyover ramp to I-90. 29-Year-Old Leads Troopers On Pursuit Before Crashing On Capital Region Highway, Police Say A high-speed police chase in the region ended with a motorcyclist in the hospital. The Albany County incident happened at around 8 p.m. Saturday, June 22, on southbound I-87 in Colonie. New York State Police said troopers attempted to stop a motorcyclist for speeding near Exit 4, but the man continued driving southbound as police followed. He attempted to get off the highway at Exit 2W, but lost control and crashed on the off-ramp. Fatal Crash: 34-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Capital Region Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that left one person dead in the region. It happened around 5:10 p.m. Thursday, June 20, in Albany. The investigation determined that Albany County resident Michael F. Furch, age 34, of Guilderland, was operating a motorcycle when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a concrete barrier exiting I-787 on the off-ramp to I-90, New York State Police said. Furch was ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the shoulder of I-787 northbound below the off-ramp.   Furch was pronounced dead at the scene.
