Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Husband, Wife Killed In Melville Crash Two people were killed in a multi-vehicle midday Long Island crash. It happened just after 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in Melville. Fred Goldberg, age 92, was driving a 2022 Acura eastbound on Ruland Road when he lost control of the vehicle and veered through traffic, crossing a grass median on the northwest corner of the intersection of Pinelawn Road, according to Suffolk County Police. Rafael Becomes Hurricane With 115 MPH Winds: Future Path Has Pair Of Possibilities Tropical Storm Rafael has now become a hurricane, with its projected path now uncertain. It made landfall in western Cuba as a major Category 3 storm in Cuba late Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 6, with life-threatening storm surge, damaging hurricane-force winds, and destructive waves reported, along with 115 mph winds. 38-Year-Old Severely Injured In Chain-Reaction Central Islip Crash One person suffered seriously injuries in a chain-reaction, three-vehicle Long Island crash. It happened around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, in Central Islip. Woman Killed After Being Struck By Car At West Babylon Intersection A woman was killed after being hit by a car at a Long Island intersection. The crash happened at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024 at approximately 6:30 a.m., in West Babylon. Whooping Cough Cases Are Spiking, CDC Warns Cases of whooping cough are five times higher than at this time a year ago, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is warning. Officially known as pertussis, those infected have persistent, chronic fits of coughing followed by a “whoop” sound. Riverhead Man Drove Drunk With 2 Kids In SUV, Police Say A Long Island man has been accused of driving drunk with two children in the compact SUV.
