A New Jersey woman and a teenage boy were caught attempting to steal a running vehicle in Hewlett while an infant sat in their getaway car, police said. Officers responded to a home on Seawane Road around 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, after a resident saw an unknown male inside his running vehicle, Nassau County police said. A 63-year-old woman was hospitalized after being hit by a pickup truck that fled the scene in Westbury, Nassau County police announced on Sunday, Feb. 16. A 60-year-old woman was critically injured after being struck by a teenage driver in Wantagh, Nassau County police announced on Monday, Feb. 10. The woman was attempting to cross Wantagh Avenue eastbound near Laurel Lane when she was hit by a 2015 Honda driven by a 17-year-old girl at 3:38 p.m., detectives said.
