Man Found Dead In Car On Shoulder Of Long Island Expressway In Hauppauge An investigation is underway after a man was found dead in broad daylight on the Long Island Expressway. Suffolk County Police Highway Patrol officers responded to a parked vehicle in Hauppauge on the eastbound shoulder near Route 111 on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at about 1:15 p.m.  Officers discovered a body in the front seat of a 2019 Jeep.  Following an investigation by Fourth Squad detectives, the body was identified as Luis Gonzalez, age 62. Human Remains Found At Harbor On Long Island An investigation is underway after the remains of a dead man were found on Long Island. Nassau County Police detectives say officers responded to reports of human remains found at Hempstead Harbor in Roslyn just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10. Ronkonkoma Man ID'd After Apparent Shirley Drowning At Smith Point County Park Outer Beach Police are investigating the death of a man who was pulled unresponsive from water on Long Island. A Suffolk County Park Ranger was patrolling on Outer Beach in Smith Point County Park when he was notified that a man was in distress in the water at noontime Sunday, Aug. 11. The officer and a good Samaritan immediately attempted to reach the man using a life ring, but he was located unresponsive by Suffolk County lifeguards on jet skis.  He was pulled to shore where CPR was initiated. NY Man ID'd As Tourist Found Dead In Greece An American tourist recently found dead in Greece has been identified as a Long Island horse trainer. Toby Sheets’ body was found on Sunday, June 16, on a rocky beach on the Greek island of Mathraki, according to CBS News New York. Sheets, 55, was a native of Arkansas and lived in the Nassau County village of Floral Park, where he worked as a horse trainer at Belmont Park.
