A man has been accused of driving while intoxicated after allegedly sideswiping a police vehicle and fleeing the scene on Long Island. Authorities say the incident occurred around 6:25 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, on Montauk Highway in Water Mill. Kevin Sagastume, age 23, of Riverhead, was reportedly attempting to exit a private dirt driveway onto the highway when his vehicle sideswiped an unoccupied marked Southampton Town Police cruiser parked with emergency lights on. A Pennsylvania man suspected of murdering a woman at a high-end resort in the Hamptons was found dead hundreds of miles from the crime scene in New York. Thomas Gannon, age 56, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, according to Suffolk County Police. A woman’s death at a Long Island wellness center has turned into a murder investigation. Southampton Town Police responded to the hamlet of Water Mill’s Shou Sugi Ban House on Montauk Highway after a staff member found a guest dead in her room at around 12:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28.
