19-Year-Old Dies From Injuries After Crash Involving Allegedly Impaired Driver In Central Islip A teenager has died from his injuries following a crash involving an allegedly impaired driver on Long Island. The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, in Central Islip. A 19-year-old Brentwood man was riding a bicycle westbound across Joshuas Path at Vanderbilt Avenue when he was struck by a 2012 Honda sedan traveling southbound on Joshuas Path, according to Suffolk County Police.
