DUI Mustang Driver Going 100 MPH Gravely Injured Rookie Cop In LIE Pursuit, Officials Say Officials have identified the officer gravely injured during a high-speed pursuit with a DUI Ford Mustang driver on the Long Island Expressway (LIE) as Suffolk County Police Officer Brendan Gallagher, a three-year veteran of the force.  Gallagher was critically injured while pursuing Cody Fischer, suspected of speeding under the influence on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025, officials said during a press conference held by the Suffolk County Executive's office.
