Junior's Restaurant and Bakery said it will start serving up deep-fried slices of its classic New York-style cheesecake on Wednesday, April 2.

The crunchy dessert will only be available for a limited time at Junior's original location at the corner of Flatbush Avenue Extension and DeKalb Avenue – also known as Cheesecake Corner and Harry Rosen Way. The cheesecake is rolled in crushed cornflakes, fried to a golden crisp, and finished with a long list of customizable toppings.

The restaurant said this isn't a deep-fried April Fools' joke.

"Everyone's a little fried these days, so we figured our cheesecake should be too," said third-generation owner Alan Rosen. "If this doesn't make you smile and wolf it down — or at least take a nap — you're doing dessert wrong."

The hot treat comes with a buffet of sweet and salty toppings like chocolate chips, rainbow sprinkles, crushed Oreos, whipped cream, and graham cracker crumbs. Customers can also pick from pie fillings like blueberry, cherry, and pineapple, as well as sauces and New York staples like mini black-and-white cookies or rainbow marzipan.

Junior's has three restaurants in NYC, along with locations at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut and Las Vegas. The maker of the self-proclaimed "World's Most Fabulous Cheesecake" also operates a bakery outlet in Burlington, New Jersey.

Harry Rosen founded Junior's in 1950 and the restaurant has hosted many famous guests, including Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
