LI Woman Drove Drunk In Crash Killing Mom Riding In SUV With Daughter, Grandchild: Police A Long Island woman was driving under the influence when she caused a crash that killed a 75-year-old mother, according to authorities. Suffolk County Police said the collision occurred on Friday, Nov. 22, at approximately 8:40 p.m. on Middle Country Road near Wading River Hollow Road in Middle Island.  Investigators determined that Melissa Koprowski, age 31, of Yaphank, was driving a 2014 Dodge Durango eastbound when she attempted to turn left onto Wading River Hollow Road. Fatal Chain-Reaction Long Island Expressway Crash: Garden City Woman ID'd As Victim One person was killed and another seriously injured in a chain-reaction crash on the Long Island Expressway. It happened just before 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, in Yaphank. A 65-year-old man from Bay Shore was riding a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound near Exit 68, according to Suffolk County Police. He had a female passenger on the back seat.  The motorcycle hit the rear of a 2016 Lexus SUV, which had slowed down due to traffic.  The Lexus then struck the rear of a 2019 Audi SUV.
