Infant Rescued From Hot Car At Nassau County Walmart, Father Faces Charges A man has been accused of endangering the welfare of his infant son after the child was found unattended in a vehicle at a Long Island shopping center. Nassau County Police said the incident occurred on Saturday, Nov. 23, at approximately 12:17 p.m. in Valley Stream.  Officers responded to Walmart on Green Acres Road after receiving a report of a 10-month-old boy left alone in a car. Long Island Day Care Worker From Bohemia Accused Of Dragging, Hitting Children A former childcare worker on Long Island has been accused of endangering the welfare of several young children. Following an investigation into separate incidents at the day care facility located on Montauk Highway in East Patchogue, Roshanne Marks, age 33, of Bohemia, was arrested, Suffolk County Police announced on Saturday, Oct. 26. According to police, Marks grabbed the arms and dragged two 3-year-old children and struck the back of the head of another 3-year-old. Son, Daughter's Abuse Led To Death Of Roosevelt Woman, Police Say A brother and sister from Long Island are accused of abusing their elderly mother to the point the woman died. Nassau County Police were called to a Roosevelt home at around 2:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, to perform a welfare check. Inside, officers found 85-year-old Carmel McDougall unresponsive. She was taken to a hospital and died days later, on Wednesday, Sept. 18. An investigation found that McDougall’s 65-year-old son, Michael McDougall, was responsible for the injuries that caused her death, police said. Long Island Man Drives Drunk With 3-Year-Old Son, Police Say A man has been arrested on a charge of driving drunk when he got into a minor crash with a 3-year-old in his car, police said. It happened on Saturday, June 8 in Roosevelt, according to Nassau County Police. At about 9:50 p.m. that evening, 32-year-old Abidan Sorto-Benitez was driving his 2004 Honda Civic near the intersection of Branch Place and Conlon Road when he hit a curb, which rendered his car inoperable. Officers who arrived at the scene reported that Sorto-Benitez had glassy eyes and had breath that smelled of alcohol. He failed a sobriety test and was placed under arrest. So…
