Snow will threaten the area until about 4 p.m. with temperatures in the mid 20s. Total daytime accumulations could be up to 2-3 inches.
The snow has resulted in school closures, slippery roads and accidents throughout the area.
Light snow could linger in the evening hours with minimal accumulations before skies gradually clear.
Friday will be sunny and cold with temperatures only around 24 degrees.
Saturday will be partly sunny and slightly warmer with a high around 31.
The warming trend will continue Sunday into Monday with temperatures reaching 40 degrees and above. Temperatures could get close to 50 by midweek next week.
