IDs Released For Victim, Suspect In Fatal Northern Westchester Stabbing
Both the victim and the suspect in a fatal stabbing involving a pair of teenagers in Northern Westchester have been identified. According to an investigation by Peekskill Police, the two became involved in some type of dispute near the intersection of Howard Street and North Broad Street on Friday, March 27, at approximately 11:25 a.m. At some point this dispute became physical, and the suspect, now identified as Jahliv Niles, 18, of Peekskill stabbed 17-year-old Omarion McKenzie in the chest with a knife and fled the scene. Man Killed While Walking Along Roadway In Northern Westchester
A 78-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle while he was walking on a roadway in Northern Westchester. The incident took place around 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 29, when William O’Connor was walking in the area of Washington and Requa streets, said Peekskill Police Lt. Jack Galusha. O'Connor, of Peekskill, reportedly suffered a serious head wound and was unresponsive when police arrived on the scene. Domestic Incident Leads To Seven-Hour Standoff In Area
A man facing charges in a domestic incident barricaded himself inside his home, leading to a nearly seven-hour standoff that finally ended just before 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 in Carmel. At approximately 2:20 p.m. a member of the Carmel Police Department was on Putnam Drive investigating a prior domestic incident involving the 28-year-old resident, Alexander Booth. State Provides Funds To Ulster County Sheriff’s Office For Police Body Cameras
New York Attorney General Letitia James has announced funding for the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office to invest in body-worn cameras. The funding was presented in a check for $69,750 to the department on Friday, Oct. 18 as part of James’ Capture an Account of a Material Situation (CAMS) program. The department was able to purchase a total of 93 body-worn cameras for officer use. The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office is one of just 13 law enforcement agencies statewide that will receive a combined total of more than $1 million to purchase 891 body-worn cameras and 321 body-worn camera systems th…
