The projected timing of a complex, cross-country storm system on track to arrive in the region on Thanksgiving weekend has shifted. The storm system is expected to bring rainfall and gusty winds and could lead to slippery roads, and travel disruptions on Black Friday, Nov. 25, AccuWeather.com said. A quick-moving storm moving across the region will bring up to a foot of snow to parts of the Northeast. The time frame for the system is late Tuesday night, Nov. 15 into Wednesday morning, Nov. 16. An unseasonable stretch of springlike temperatures will be followed by the arrival of a colder air mass that could bring a round of snowfall next week. Here's Time Frame For Coastal Storm That Will Bring Soaking Rain, Strong Winds To Region
A powerful coastal storm system with tropical moisture will bring drenching downpours and strong winds to much of the region. According to the National Weather Service, the system is on track to arrive during the day on Sunday, Oct. 23, and continue into Monday morning, Oct. 24. Saturday, Oct. 22 will be a picture-perfect fall day with plenty of sunshine, and a high temperature in the mid 60s. Long-range forecasters for AccuWeather have just released their projections for the winter of 2022-23. Senior Meteorologist Paul Pastelok and his team are predicting La Niña will shape the weather patterns across the United States for the third straight year. A round of showers and isolated thunderstorms is expected in much of the region as a cold front moves through on Monday, Sept. 19. It will be another warm day with temperatures in the 80s and partly cloudy skies, the National Weather Service said. A brand-new forecast for the winter of 2022-23 is calling for a cold, snowy winter.
