Woman Breaks Over $300 Worth Of Products At Store, Then Flees In Northern Westchester: Police
A 28-year-old woman has found herself in hot water after allegedly breaking hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise at a Northern Westchester store before running away, police said. The incident happened on Wednesday, July 5 just after 4 p.m., when Yorktown Police were alerted that a woman had broken products inside the ACME store at 100 Triangle Center before leaving the store on foot. Road Closures Scheduled During Yorktown Holiday Light Parade
Santa Claus is coming to Yorktown this weekend, and he’s bringing a host of road closures for the annual Holiday Lights parade. Yorktown Police Chief Robert Noble announced that “to provide for the safety of parade participants and spectators,” there will be road closures beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1. There’s going to be dancing in the streets in Yorktown over the weekend, leading to road closures in the area as the community celebrates the 10th annual Chamber of Commerce Festival and Street Fair. Yorktown Police Chief Robert Noble said that in an abundance of caution and to keep parade participants and spectators safe there will be road closures. There will be several road closures over the weekend as the Yorktown Grange Fair hosts its annual Tractor Parade. The Yorktown Police Department issued an alert advising motorists that at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, the parade will kick off at the Yorktown Fire Department fairgrounds on Veterans Road, continuing through Commerce Street to Hanover Street, before concluding at the Grande Fair grounds on Moseman Avenue. There will be temporary road closures in Yorktown on Wednesday night, June 20 as officials get set to celebrate the Yorktown Heights Engine Company No. 1 at its annual parade and carnival.
