Two Busted Stealing Thousands In Alleged 'Granny Scam' In Northern Westchester, Police Say Two men were taken into custody by officers in Northern Westchester after operating an alleged granny scam using a vacant home, police said. Officers on patrol near an unoccupied house in Ossining on Yates Avenue on Thursday, Sept. 19, were put on alert when they spotted a car pull up, a man retrieve a package from the property and go back to the car. Police said that they then saw two men in the car open the package and start counting cash, in what appears to be a “granny scam," since the money had been sent to California.
