Shake Shack, Chick-fil-A Among New Eateries Coming To NY Thruway Service Areas
Some popular, prominent restaurants are coming to New York State Thruway rest stops as part of a multi-million project to redevelop more than two dozen service stations. Beginning on Thursday, July 29, construction will begin on a $450 million project to develop 27 service areas on the Thruway, officials announced this week. As of July 29, 10 services areas will be temporarily closed to begin the first phase of the project, though fuel service will remain available at all locations during construction. Town Of Poughkeepsie Man Killed After Being Hit By Truck, Car ID'd
The Town of Poughkeepsie man who was killed after being struck by an empty dump truck and then a car on Lime Kiln Road late Thursday night has been identified. A preliminary investigation indicated that the victim, 44-year-old Rudolph Thompson of the Town of Poughkeepsie, was struck while in the southbound lane of Lime Kiln Road by a 2012 Peterbilt tractor hauling an empty dump trailer. The truck, which was traveling south, stopped immediately after the collision. After being hit by the tractor, Thompson was then struck a few moments later by a 2008 Ford Focus.
