Crash Involving Pedestrian Causes Saw Mill River Parkway Closure
This story has been updated. A serious crash caused the closure of a stretch of the Saw Mill River Parkway in Westchester. A pedestrian was stuck near McLean Avenue, according to Westchester County Police. The crash closed all three northbound lanes from the New York City line to the Yonkers Avenue/Cross County Parkway interchange starting at around 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 23. A Westchester woman has admitted to her role in a fatal crash on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Hastings-on-Hudson last summer and will now face time behind bars. Yonkers resident Kristen Lynn pleaded guilty on Tuesday, Dec. 8 following the death of a 28-year-old woman who was killed on the Parkway in July last year. Specifically, Lynn pleaded guilty to a felony count of vehicular homicide. Town Justice In Northern Westchester Sentenced To Conditional Discharge For DWI Arrest
A town justice in Westchester will avoid time behind bars after being sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge following his DWI arrest last year. Bedford Town Justice Erik Jacobsen, 55, was sentenced this week in Rye City Court, which calls for him to continue in-treatment, his license will be revoked, and any vehicle in his name must contain an ignition interlock device for a year. A massive flood mitigation project will force lane closures on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Westchester for nearly a year. Work began on Monday, Nov. 9 on the Saw Mill River Parkway near the Marble Avenue exit, where the roadway is prone to flooding in Westchester. One Killed In Two-Vehicle Northern Westchester Crash
One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash overnight in Northern Westchester. It happened around 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 on the northbound Saw Mill River Parkway at the Route 117 exit near the Mount Kisco/Bedford Hills border. As a result, northbound traffic was diverted off the parkway at Kisco Avenue while the roadway was closure for several hours during the accident investigation, Westchester County Police said.
