Woman, 43, Killed When Car Crashes Into Tree On Route 9W A 43-year-old woman was killed in a one-car crash on Route 9W after hitting a tree, police said. Jolene E. Jollie of Milton was traveling south around 5:30 p.m. Friday, on Route 9W when her car left the right side of the roadway and struck a tree, Town of Lloyd Police Lt. James Janso said. Jollie, who was the sole occupant in the car was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead, Janso said. Lloyd Police were assisted at the scene by Town of Marlboro Police, New York State Police, Highland Fire Department, Marlboro Fire Department and Mobil Life Ambulance.  …

Khachatur Ziroyan, 26, was arrested around 5:30 p.m. Saturday after Officers Francis Pierri and Steven Bohr, pull him over on Route 9W for committing numerous traffic violations, said New Windsor Police Lt. Stony Point Police arrested Javier Martinez, 26, of Haverstraw, for assault following on incident on Sunday in which a bicyclist was injured, according to Stony Point Lt. Daniel Hylas. I-84 Bridge Work Over Route 9W Starts Work is underway on an extensive, multi-million dollar project to rehabilitate the Interstate 84 bridge over Route 9W in Newburgh. The $14.7 million project will raise the height of the overpass from 14 to 16 feet at the interchange. The funding was awarded by the New York State Bridge Authority in late February. During construction - which is expected to last for nearly two years - will be done two lanes at a time, from south to north, and is expected to be completed in 2020.
