Long-Awaited Resurfacing Project Starts On Putnam Roadways
There may be delays, loud noises and “general frustrations” on several busy Putnam County roadways as highway crews begin an extensive project that is expected to last several weeks. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department issued an alert this week regarding a "long-awaited" milling and resurfacing project from Route 6 to Route 52 and Route 6 to Route 312 that is scheduled to begin on June 11. Woman Charged With Prostitution At East Fishkill Business
A 49-year-old woman was arrested on prostitution charges on Tuesday by East Fishkill police at a business in the Taconic Plaza off Route 52 in Hopewell Junction.Police said they investigated illegal activity at the Unique Beauty Spa. East Fishkill detectives assisted by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force arrested Wai Yee Chu of New York City. Chu was arrested after providing a massage and offering to perform a sex act on an undercover officer. Man Passed Out Behind Wheel Found With Heroin, Meth In Putnam, Police Say
A man who passed out behind the wheel of his car after using heroin is facing jail time after being busted in Putnam in possession of meth and other drugs, Kent Police said. Police received a call from a concerned member of the community at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2, stating that there was a man in an SUV in a parking lot near Route 52 who appeared to be passed out behind the wheel.
