A 28-year-old man has been indicted on charges alleging that he shot his mother and injured police officers while resisting arrest.
This week, Derrick Fields, of Wallkill, was indicted and charged with four counts of second-degree assault, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon, all felonies, and a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest for an incident last month.

A 39-year-old woman was arrested by police, but not without a fight, after allegedly hitting customers at a local store and then Town of Poughkeepsie police when they attempted to arrest her.
Rashina McKinnon, address unknown, was arrested around 1:52 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 4, after Town of Poughkeepsie police were called to the R&K Grocery at 737 Main St., said Capt. Michael O'Dowd.
When officers arrived on the scene, they learned that McKinnon had allegedly repeatedly hit customers and refused to leave the store, O'Dowd said.

Man, Woman Nabbed With Loaded Firearm During Town of Poughkeepsie Traffic Stop, Police Say
A man and a woman one who tried to flee from police were arrested following a traffic stop for alleged criminal possession of a loaded weapon.
The incident took place around 12:45 a.m., Friday, July 26, when Town of Poughkeepsie Police officers stopped a vehicle on Main Street, said the Lt. Michael O’Dowd.
During the stop, officers located a loaded firearm inside the vehicle and arrested Shaquille D. Heirs, 25, and Angelica D. Scott, 28, both of Poughkeepsie, O'Dowd said.
Heirs attempted to flee from officers on foot but was caught a short time later.

Annette Reinhardt, 66, of New York City, was arrested on Wednesday, July 24, after Yorktown Police received a call about a civil dispute at 3673 Hill Blvd., said the Yorktown Police.

A 25-year-old man who gave officers a fake name after shoplifting has been charged, police say.
Officers with the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department say they received a larceny complaint at J.C. Penney in Galleria Mall (2001 South Road) on Friday, June 28.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect, identified as Dominique Hobbs, 25, of Newburgh, had fled the business on foot after stealing clothing, police say.

An unlicensed driver became combative with deputies during a traffic stop, leading to his arrest, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
Two Sheriff’s deputies on patrol stopped Victor Lowell, 35, of Putnam Valley, shortly after 7:15 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, after he committed a traffic violation near the intersection of Oscawana Lake Road and Church Street in Putnam Valley.
