Injured Hiker Rescued In Area
Authorities rescued a hiker who was injured on a trail in the Hudson Valley. Members of the State Patrol Aviation in Newburgh and Troop K State troopers helped rescue the individual, who was injured on Break Neck Ridge Trail in Putnam County, according to a report from New York State Police on Thursday, Feb. 24. Man Rescued From Apartment Fire In Area
A man who was seriously injured was rescued from an apartment fire by a brave neighbor and two workers in the area. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 9:45 a.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 16 in Pleasant Valley. More than a dozen people were hospitalized after an apartment fire broke out overnight in Westchester. A Rockland County firefighter who became trapped in a massive fire at an area senior living facility has been identified by officials. The body of Spring Valley Firefighter Jared Lloyd was found around 11:52 p.m., Tuesday, March 23, said Rockland County Executive Ed Day. A State Police trooper rescued a man whose car had been buried in the snow for 10 hours. The incident took place on Thursday, Dec. 17, when Sergeant Jason Cawley contacted Tioga County 911 to see if any emergency calls were pending due to the storm, said the New York State Police. Police in Northern Westchester pulled out all the stops to track down a hiker who found himself lost in the woods. Members of the Bedford Police Department received a report at approximately 7:40 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18 from area resident Leroy Junker, who said he was lost on the trails of the Westmoreland Sanctuary. A 22-year-old Westchester man was rescued after falling more than 20 feet off a cliff while hiking at Nyack Beach State Park. The incident took place around 2:30 p.m. Sunday when the Tarrytown man went off a trail, fell and was knocked unconscious, said Randy Simon, spokesman for the state Parks Services.
