37-Year-Old Caught While Trying To Rob Liquor Store In Region, Police Say
A man from the region was arrested after he was allegedly caught by police attempting to break into a liquor store. The incident took place in Sullivan County around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18 in Monticello. Paul J. Delorenzo, age 37, of Monticello was arrested after police on patrol spotted him attempting to burglarize the Route 42 Liquor Store, located at 9 Forestburg Road, said Lt. Orange County K-9 German Shepherd Officer Scout Dies At Age 10
The death of K-9 officer Scout was announced Saturday by Orange County Sheriff Carl E. DuBois. "K-9 Scout was a loyal partner and protector to his handler and trainer, Sergeant Dave Campbell," DuBois said. K-9 Scout was a German Shepherd born on Aug. 8, 2008 and was one of 13 pups in the litter. Scout was selected at 8 weeks old to enter the Police K-9 world. At 18 months of age, Scout placed fourth at the National Explosives Detector Trials in Minnesota. K-9 Officer Lex Tracks Down Carmel Domestic Violence Suspect
A suspect involved in an alleged violent domestic dispute couldn't outrun a police canine in Putnam County, who tracked him down as he attempted to flee and hide from police in Carmel. Putnam Police Sheriff’s Deputy Vincent Dalo, Sgt. Timothy Keith and K-9 Lex, members of the canine unit, were dispatched to a home in Carmel to offer an assist to the Carmel Police Department, where there was a report of a male suspect who was involved in a violent domestic incident in the area.
