Serial Burglar Of Hudson Valley Cemeteries, Synagogue Nabbed, Police Say
A New York man has been charged with five separate alleged burglaries that occurred in the Hudson Valley over the past three months.
Maurice Deutsch, age 40, of Brooklyn, was arrested by the Ramapo Police on Friday, Nov. 10, for the burglaries that took place in Rockland County in the village of New Hempstead and the Monsey area.
According to Det. Lt. Christopher Franklin, of the Ramapo Police, on three occasions, Deutsch had entered a building on the grounds of a cemetery in New Hempstead and removed proceeds from a charity box.

Seven children and a school bus driver were reportedly injured when a school bus crashed into a utility pole, two parked cars, and then a house in the Hudson Valley, according to multiple sources.
The incident took place in Rockland County around 9 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 1 on South Gate Drive in New Hempstead, reported ABC7.
The bus, operated by the Ribnitzer schools had about 22 people onboard at the time of the crash, said YeshivaWorld.

Covid-19: Hudson Valley Hits 2 Percent Infection Rate Mark As Cases In Clusters Spike
Spikes in positive COVID-19 cases in Rockland and Orange County have pushed the Hudson Valley’s infection rate to the highest in New York.
On Monday, Sept. 28, there were 9,948 people tested in the Hudson Valley, with 202 returning positive, bringing the infection rate to 2 percent, ahead of Western New York (1.3 percent), New York City (1.3 percent), and Long Island (1.2 percent).
No other region was above 1 percent as the statewide infection rate rose to 1.3 percent.
