57-Year-Old Man Found Dead On Wilderness Trail In Region
A 57-year-old man was found dead on a mountain trail in the region after being reported missing by his wife. The incident occurred in Sullivan County around 1 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, in Narrowsburg on the Tusten Mountain Trail. New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Forest Ranger Schweider was alerted to a search for the missing man from Queens County in Maspeth who had last been seen two nights earlier by his wife, said DEC officials. Man Charged With Making Threat Of Violence Against School District In Region
A 37-year-old man from the region was charged with making an alleged threat against a school district in the region. Sullivan County resident Steven Kelly, of Narrowsburg, was arrested on Friday, Feb. 2 for allegedly making threats against the Sullivan West School District in Jeffersonville. According to Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, deputies received information shortly before 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1, Kelly had made posts on social media expressing his dissatisfaction with the school district. Man Killed After Being Ejected From SUV In Head-On Crash In Region
A man from the region was killed after being ejected from his SUV while passing another vehicle and hitting it head-on. The crash happened at 1:45 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10 on Route 97 in the town of Highland in Sullivan County. According to Trooper Steven Nevel, of the New York State Police, Sullivan County resident Jeffrey F. Zimmer, age 45, of Narrowsburg, Zimmer was driving a 2000 Chevy Blazer southbound on Route 97 when he attempted to pass another vehicle when he struck a 2008 Toyota Tacoma traveling north. An area man accused of attacking police officers with a weapon during the insurrection in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 6 has rejected his plea deal and plans to fight the charges against him at trial. 16 Area Residents Charged With Impaired Driving
Sixteen area residents were charged for alleged impaired driving by New York State Police troopers in the Hudson Valley. Local residents facing charges include: Ulster County On Jan. 3, State Police in Ellenville arrested Lizette Andino, 31 of Napanoch, for DWAI Drugs. Troopers responded to a report of a female unconscious behind the wheel of a vehicle on Marl Road in the town of Shawangunk.
