Hudson Valley Man Stabs Ex-GF's New Boyfriend, Police Say A 30-year-old Hudson Valley man was nabbed after allegedly stabbing and attacking his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend after breaking into a home. Orange County resident John Luke Popadopoulous of Monroe was arrested on Wednesday, July 5 in Monroe, said Lt. Tim Young, of the Monroe Police Department. According to Young, Papadopoulous forced his way into a residence on Lake Street and attacked the new boyfriend with a knife causing injuries to the man's neck and chest. The 28-year-old victim was transported by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center in stable condition, Young said. …

The incident took place around 9:42 a.m. Friday on Route 17M, said Monroe Police Department Chief Dave Conklin. According to the chief, the child was walking his bike on the shoulder of Route 17, when traffic cleared and he went to ride across Route 17M. Woman Crashes Into Fairfield County Storefront, Police Say A 73-year-old Monroe woman drove into the front of a store in Century Plaza after confusing the gas and brake pedals, police said. The incident took place around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday when the unidentified woman hit the accelerator instead of the brake when attempting to park in front of the Vision Center at the Plaza, said Monroe Police Capt. Keith White. The woman, who was injured and transported to a hospital, was the only person in the vehicle. The store was closed at the time. Brick along the front of the store, as well as the windows, were heavily damaged during the crash, White said.
