66-Year-Old Hudson Valley Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash A 66-year-old Hudson Valley man was killed in a single-vehicle crash. The collision took place in Orange County around 11 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 9 on Route 9W north in the Town of Newburgh of the intersection with Old Post Road. The victim, from Newburgh, who had to be extricated from the vehicle, died from his injuries, said Lt. Dennis Carpenter, of the town of Newburgh Police. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of family members. An investigation is underway. Man Found Dead Inside Home During Two-Alarm Fire In Area A man was found dead inside a multi-family home during a fire in Newburgh late Friday. The man was found when members of the Newburgh Fire Department were dispatched to a fire at 6½ Farrington St.  at 11:43 p.m., Friday, Feb. 8, said Terry Ahlers, Newburgh's acting fire chief. Crews arrived in under two minutes and found heavy fire showing from the front of a multi-family, two-story home, Ahlers said.
