Man Attempts To Set Fire To Hudson Valley Deli With Customers, Employees Inside: Police
A former deli employee in the region was nabbed for allegedly attempting to light a business on fire with employees and customers inside.
The incident occurred in Dutchess County on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Main Street Deli & Grocery at 390 Main St. in Beacon.
According to Beacon Police Chief Thomas Figlia, after arriving on the scene, officers identified Westchester resident Shane Williams, age 39, of Peekskill, as the suspect.
The chief said a former employee, Willams, had poured lighter fluid on the building and attempted to ignite it with customers and employees inside.

New Ben Stiller Show Filming In Hudson Valley
Star watchers and Ben Stiller fans might be able to catch a glimpse of the actor while he's in the Hudson Valley filming his new Apple+ series, "Severance," beginning this week.
Driving might a little difficult too as the filming will shutdown several roadways in Beacon, officials said.
The series, which stars Adam Scott, Christopher Walken, John Turturro, Britt Lower, and Patricia Arquette, is described by Apple+ as being about a company that is attempting to control the thoughts of its employees.

15 Area Residents Charged With DWI In State Police Stops
New York State Police troopers busted more than a dozen Hudson Valley motorists for allegedly driving while drunk on area roadways.

On Saturday, Sept., 28, State Police from Brewster arrested Jason M. Curnen, 26, of Bedford, for Aggravated DWI. He was traveling on I-684 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.

Popular Area Bagel Shop Suddenly Closes
Oh no, a favorite bagel shop has closed its door in the area.
Beacon Bagel, a friendly spot for bagels and coffee, was supposed to be closed for a few days in early September.
But then, as loyal customers kept returning for a bagel fix, the owners did not.
A quick Google search lists the shop located on Main Street as permanently closed.
