Dramatic Ice Rescue At Mohican Lake Saves 2 Skaters, 1 Who Fell Into Water Emergency crews staged a dramatic rescue in Sullivan County at Mohican Lake after a man was found half-submerged in icy waters and a woman stranded nearby.  The rescue occurred around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, in Glen Spey. According to Lumberland Fire Chief Eric Robles, with swift action from multiple agencies, the man and the woman who had been ice skating were rescued and transported for medical care. Robles said responders discovered the man who had mistakenly skated right into the water about 160 feet from shore. He was half-submerged in the icy lake and was in critical conditio…

Hudson Valley Man Found Dead After Disappearing A Hudson Valley man was found dead after disappearing from his campsite at the edge of the Delaware River. The incident took place in Sullivan County on Saturday, May 13, at the Ascalona Campground in Barryville.  Deputies responded to the campground on a report of a missing person, said Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty. Man Dies After Falling Attempting To Retrieve Downed Drone In Hudson Valley, Police Say A man from the area was killed after reaching for a downed drone and falling more than 250 feet in the Hudson Valley.  The incident took place in Orange County in Deerpark around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, said Trooper Steven Nevel. State police responded to the Hawk’s Nest in the town of Deerpark after the victim, identified as Sullivan County resident Binh Ledinh, age 42, of Lumberland, was reported missing by his wife, Nevel said.
