NY Lawmakers Oppose Decision To Open Chick-fil-A Restaurants At State Rest Stops
Several New York legislators are speaking out in opposition as Chick-fil-A prepares to open restaurants at state highway rest stops. Construction is set to begin on the project to develop 27 service areas on the thruway on Thursday, July 29. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is repealing a controversial statute dubbed the “walking while trans” ban. A New Paltz police officer will be reinstated after he was placed on administrative leave for posting a rap video, which contained lyrics asserting that there are only two genders and calling for the hanging of Hilary Clinton, on YouTube in June. Per a settlement reached by the Town of New Paltz and the Police Benevolence Association, Officer Robert Sisco will reassume his position but will be on probation for the next four years.
