School Superintendent In Northern Westchester Resigns
The superintendent of a Westchester County school district has resigned after 14 months in the role. On Saturday, Oct. 2, the Lakeland Central School District announced that Dr. Brendan Lyons’ resignation was accepted by the school board. The district said Lyons' departure is amicable. In a letter to families, Lyons said he stepped down from the role, effective Thursday, Sept. 30, "to tend to family matters and pursue other opportunities." Voicemails To School Superintendent Lead To Harassment Charge Against Northern Westchester Man
A Northern Westchester man who admitted to leaving more than two dozen harassing voicemails to Lakeland Schools Superintendent George Stone is back in trouble with police in Yorktown for leaving more unwanted messages. On Oct. 2, officers from the Yorktown Police Department were dispatched to Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, where there was a report of harassment, prompting an investigation. Cortlandt Man Admits To Harassing Lakeland Schools Superintendent
A Northern Westchester man has admitted to sending more than two dozen harassing voicemails to Lakeland Schools Superintendent George Stone for several months, leading to an order of protection. Police said it is alleged that between Jan. 17 and June 17 this year, Cortlandt Manor resident Anthony Cassone, 55, “left approximately 25 voicemails on the victim’s voicemail system that served no legitimate purpose and caused the victim annoyance and alarm.” At the victim’s request, a criminal summons was obtained from the Yorktown Justice Court on June 28 for a charge of second-degree harassment…
