Two-Alarm Condo Fire Breaks Out In Fairfield County Two units of a four-story wood-frame condo complex in Fairfield County were deemed uninhabitable and a resident was burned after a swift-moving fire started in one of the units. The fire started around 10:45 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 24, in the area of Deer Hill Avenue and Wooster Street, in Danbury said James Gagliardo, of the Danbury Fire Department.  Arriving units were flagged down by neighbors in front of 130 Deer Hill Ave. directing them to a 4-story wood frame condo complex with smoke showing from the rear of the building, Gagliardo said. Gas-Fed Fire Kitchen Fire Displaces Fairfield County Family Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a kitchen fire at a two-family residence in Fairfield County. The fire started around 6 p.m., Monday, Feb. 15, at the home located at 9 Cottage Street in Danbury. Fire and police units were immediately dispatched. Danbury Police Officer Stephan Cameron was on routine patrol in the area and arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke coming from the home, said James Gagliardo, public information spokesman for the department. Fire Heavily Damages Home, Displaces Residents In Fairfield County A Fairfield County home was heavily damaged during a fire overnight as snow continued to come down in the area that received more than 18 inches of snow.  The fire took place around 11:08 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2, at 6 Sage Road, in the Lake Waubeeka area of Danbury, said James Gagliardo, communications director for the Danbury Fire Department. Six Hospitalized Following Two-Vehicle I-84 Crash Six people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash on a stretch of I-84. The crash took place around 9 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 28, on I-84 in Danbury, said James Gagliardo, public information officer for the Danbury Fire Department.  The crash, which required the extrication of three people from one vehicle, took place between Exits 4 and 5, Gagliardo said.
